The 3-star Holiday Inn York is a modern hotel offering comfortable accommodation and high quality amenities. Situated in front of the leafy green York Racecourse site, the hotel is a short drive or pleasant stroll away from the city centre. Historic York has plenty to offer visitors. There aren't any leisure amenities at the hotel however guests can take in a race at the nearby racecourse and enjoy strolling round the city with its cobbled streets and remarkable architecture. The city has a remarkable array of high street, independent and antique shops. Not to be missed tourist attractions include Clifford's Tower and York Castle museum and the tower, undercroft and crypt at York Minster gothic cathedral. The Junction restaurant at the hotel is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and serves d'hote and a-la-carte traditional British pub style food in addition to pastries and fruit. The casual restaurant is light and airy due to the large picture windows around the perimeter of the eatery and includes an outdoor decking area surrounded by green lawns where guests can have a meal or a drink. Guests can also relax on leather sofas in the hotel bar which serves a range of alcoholic beverages. Standard rooms are simply decorated with blue and white furnishings and include a large bed, two-seater sofa, bedside table and writing desk. Rooms are equipped with a good selection of amenities including a TV with satellite and PPV channels, DVD player and tea and coffee facilities. Bathrooms contain a bath or a shower. Chargeable Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Air conditioning and Hairdryers is available in some guest rooms. Onsite parking is complimentary. The hotel is entirely non-smoking.
